An experienced human resources executive, Carol Pledger most recently served as a Managing Director and Global Head of Talent Management at Goldman Sachs in New York City. While with Goldman Sachs, Carol Pledger was active in several of the firm’s philanthropic programs, including serving as a mentor in the 10,000 Women and 10,000 Small Businesses programs. Ms. Pledger also served as a Board Member and volunteer with City Harvest for several years.
For more than 30 years, City Harvest has been working to alleviate hunger in New York City. As the world’s first food rescue organization, City Harvest has rescued some 465,000,000 million pounds of food throughout the five boroughs of New York City since its founding.
City Harvest partners with New York City residents that are directly affected by hunger and diet-related diseases to address the underlying causes. City Harvest’s food rescue work has expanded to include programs which increase the availability of produce, provide nutrition education, and build the capacity of it’s agency network. City Harvest also advocates on behalf of low-income New Yorkers to promote local, state and federal anti-hunger policies and programs.
